Have you ever wondered what the devil looks like? Here are some pictures I found.
Let’s think about this. If you saw someone who looked like any of these, would you really listen to them and do what they told you to do? I don’t think so. We would all run away as fast as we could.
The Bible gives us an idea of what the devil is really like. In 2 Corinthians 11:14 we find “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” Hey, that’s not so bad. Isn’t light better than darkness? He wants us to see him as something good. Perhaps he looks more like this.
That is more like it. See, he doesn’t look so bad after all. We might not be afraid of this guy. We might be more likely to do what he told us to.
What is he really like?
The devil is a
John 8:44 tells us that the devil is “a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”
The devil will lie to you and lead you into destruction. In 1 Peter 5:8 we are told that “Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” I know we would all run if we were being chased by a lion.
Don’t be fooled by the devil. He is NOT your friend. But Jesus “is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24
